Day One: A New Beginning
Well, we’re here. A new semester but with each new one I’m a step closer to being done. I have mixed feelings about working on someone else’s story, but given how things have turned out, I think it will be a good learning experience on how to keep pushing on even if you don’t get picked. I’m happy to be on a team that is motivated and excited about the story we are creating. It gives me the ability to also keep pushing with them. This asset production phase feels like a whirlwind. Things are getting made and redone all over the place but that is the hurricane of creativity in progress. There’s a general consensus on what we want the film to look like and feel like, now we just have to wind up there somehow. I can feel the endpoint off in the distance, but we’re just leaving the Shire.
There is a sort of hierarchy within the group, nothing bad just can feel that things always have to go through certain channels to be approved. It’s good practice for the “real world” I suppose. I have my modeling assignments and I just get to keep working on them. Just plugging along.
Finished some glasses for the Music Hall scene today. They are basic but it felt good to start small. Get my momentum up for when I have to do one of the main character’s cars. That’ll be a doozy as it will be the first time I’ve had to make something in a certain style. So I have to push my want for realism aside and make it more cartoon-y. Might be fun. That’s all for now. See you next week in Blog Post 2!
